Product Specificiton

  • Shaft material is nylon and pebax; wire braided skeleton is 304 coded Stainless Steel. The material used in this catheter is biocompatible. Wire braided skeleton is incorporated between the polymer and the inner Teflon lining.
  • Nylon is extruded at different lengths depending on the size of the catheter; 5-6F has three jackets whereas 7-8F has two jackets.
  • Between the polymer and the Teflon, 16 strands of Stainless Steel flat wire or helical wire is used. Due to the braided skeleton, the catheter can maintain up to 8275kPa pressure.
  • The innermost layer of the catheter is Teflon (from hub to tip). This PTFE lining reduces friction and enhances deliverability of other devices.

  • Flat wire is used all along the shaft up until the soft tip.

Product Specifications
Alvimedica’s TURQUOISE™ PTCA dilatation catheter is designed to be used in dilating the stenotic atherosclerotic lesions in coronary arteries and in bypass graft surgeries.

The Catheter’s proximal tip is used as the balloon’s inflating port. The balloon is inflated by injecting a contrast material from this tip. The balloon’s material is capable of reaching a certain size at a certain pressure.

Radiopaque Marker

Micro-Thin Non-Compliant Balloon

Catheter Characteristics
The Z-MED™ high pressure dilatation catheter is a coaxially constructed catheter with a distally mounted non-compliant high pressure balloon. The catheter exhibits a comparable profile to other marketed catheters by also combines this profile with a high pressure balloon suitable for resistant stenosis. The Z-MED™ balloon catheter is available in over 50 configurations ranging in diameter from 2.0 to 40.0 mm.

Due to the coaxial construction, the catheter inflates and deflates extremely fast. The TYSHAK® catheter is available in over 100 configurations with balloon lengths from 1.0 to 10.0 cm and balloon diameter from 2.0 to 25.0 mm.

The advantage of the high yield strength of Cobalt Chromium alloy and stent design allows COMMANDER to have a thinner wall thickness.
Cobalt Chromium has a higher radiopacity than stainless steel stemming from its higher density.

Radial Strength
COMMANDER has a higher radial strength than Stainless Steel stents because of its thin wall thickness stemming from its design and from the specification of its material.

Thin Wall Thickness
Despite its thin wall thickness (70 μm) COMMANDER stent has a high radial strength like its Stainless Steel counterparts with high flexibility stemming from the specification of its L605 coded Cobalt Chromium material.

After the electro-polishing process is performed, Cobalt Chromium alloys exhibit rounder and thinner struts compared to Stainless Steel. This feature of the material provides a decrease in restenosis risk.

Conclusion
To provide a high radial strength despite the low wall thickness the materials of the stents should possess a high strength [1]. Cobalt Chromium is a good candidate as the base stent material because of its features such as possessing a higher rates of strength compared to Stainless Steel. Another additional benefit of this material is its increased X-ray attenuation compared to Stainless Steel [1].

COMMANDER Cobalt Chromium alloy SDS (Stent Delivery System) has all of the advantages provided by its base material: Cobalt Chromium. Because of the feature advantages of L605 coded material over Stainless Steel; COMMANDER Stent provides the same radial strength, with its 70μm thick walls and higher flexibility rates compared to the Stainless Steel stents

Permaseal, das innovative transapikale Zugangs- und Verschlusssystem der Firma Micro Interventional Devices, Inc., ermöglicht den minimalinvasiven und sicheren Zugang und Verschluss des linken ventrikulären Apex für TA TAVI. Innerhalb der Sutureless Transapical Access and Closure Study (STASIS), in welcher 34 Patienten in 5 Kliniken eingeschlossen waren, wurde gezeigt, dass sowohl inoperable als auch Patienten älter als 75 Jahre, zuverlässig und vor allem sicher therapiert werden können. Permaseal passt sich der Bewegung des Herzens an, was in keiner Beeinträchtigung dieser resultiert. Vorteile, die das Permaseal Zugangs- und Verschlusssystems generiert, sind zum Einen eine verkürzte Operationszeit und zum Anderen ein geringerer Blutverlust. Die Bedienung des Permaseals ist intuitiv aber vor allem sicher. Die CE-Zulassung erfolgt voraussichtlich Ende Januar 2016.
