MRI accuracy from standard echo
3D cardiac analysis of all four chambers in under five minutes
VMS+ 4.0 generates a precise 3D model of the heart from a standard 2D echocardiography and provides volumetric measurements for all four cardiac chambers with an accuracy equivalent to that of a cardiac MRI. No additional MRI appointment, no anaesthesia and no contrast agent required.
AI assisted 3D reconstruction from 2D echo
The VMS+ 4.0 system combines a small sensor on the ultrasound probe with an intuitive software workstation. The proprietary KBR technology uses an extensive MRI image database as a reference and reconstructs a complete 3D model of the heart from the anatomical landmarks of a standard 2D echo. The system delivers reliable results even without technically optimal images.
- Small sensor on the ultrasound probe, no separate imaging system required
- Compatible with ultrasound devices from all manufacturers
- Software installation on existing workstation possible
- All study data remain in the institution’s own IT system and PACS
- No contour tracing required, anatomical landmarks suffice
- Volumes and ejection fraction of all four cardiac chambers
- End-diastolic and end-systolic volume
- 3D visualisation of cardiac chambers in various planes
- Export as structured report and as raw data in CSV format
The heart in 3D, calculated from your patient’s echo
From the placed landmarks, VMS+ 4.0 creates a complete, rotatable 3D model of the heart. All four chambers are displayed spatially and can be viewed from any perspective. The model forms the basis for the volumetric measurements and can be stored directly in the report.
- Spatial understanding of complex anatomical relationships
- Clear case discussion in the Heart Team and with patients
- Direct comparison of follow-up examinations using the 3D model
- Measurements remain consistent across different operators
One software for both imaging modalities
The VMS+ software runs on any standard workstation and processes both 2D echo images and 3D echo and MRI datasets. Institutions that already have MRI data can import these directly and receive reproducible volumetric analyses regardless of the image source.
- 3D modelling from 2D echo, 3D echo or MRI images
- No tracing required, only anatomical landmarks
- Reliable analysis even with suboptimal image quality
- Direct comparison between follow-up examinations
- PACS integration and structured report export
“VMS+ not only gives us a very precise spatial view of complex congenital malformations at any time, but it also provides us with important data on the function of the heart muscle.”
Dr. Saleha Kabir — Lead Physiologist in Paediatrics and Advanced EchocardiographyComplete cardiac analysis in four steps
From echocardiography to validated 3D findings in under five minutes.
Echocardiography
Standard 2D echocardiography with the existing ultrasound equipment, without a special protocol and without any additional device other than the VMS+ sensor on the probe.
Place landmarks
Placement of anatomically relevant points on the echo images. No tracing and no manual contouring. This step takes only a few minutes.
3D analysis
The KBR technology automatically creates a complete 3D model of the heart and calculates volumes and ejection fractions of all four chambers.
Report and export
Structured findings report with all parameters, export of raw data in CSV format and storage of all study data on PACS.
Validated in complex cardiac conditions
VMS+ 4.0 has been clinically validated in patients with congenital heart defects, acquired heart disease and pulmonary hypertension. In international studies, including at the Mayo Clinic, results correlated closely with cMRI measurements and remained consistent across different operators — even with limited echo image quality.
